March is here with some special days like St. Patrick’s Day to add some fun to the curriculum prep!
We have some great math tools for you this month – including a themed St. Patrick Day worksheet on Statistics and extra assessments and exit tickets for your students to shine.

High School Teacher Tools

This month, the Teacher Tools for N-Gen Algebra I, Geometry , and Common Core Algebra II focus on practice and assessments. Use these add-ons to assess students’ understanding of key concepts and their ability to apply formulas accurately.

N-Gen Math Algebra I:

• Unit 9 (Square Roots) – Practice
  This practice worksheet provides practice problems for students to work on finding principal square roots, simplifying expressions with square roots, and writing square roots in simplest radical form.
  
• Unit 9 (After Lesson 4) – Mid-Unit Quiz – Form B
  This mid-unit quiz has two parts: the first part is multiple-choice questions and the second part requires showing work and explaining reasoning. The quiz covers topics like square roots, irrational numbers, and simplifying expressions.

N-Gen Math Geometry:

• Unit 8 – Assessment – Form B
  This add-on assesses students’ ability to apply trigonometric ratios, calculate areas and lengths, and use geometric principles to solve real-world problems. Here, Part I contains multiple-choice questions and Part II requires detailed solutions, to help students solidify their understanding of trigonometry and geometric relationships.
  
• Unit 8 (After Lesson 4) – Mid-Unit Quiz – Form A
  This quiz covers similar triangles and trigonometric ratios. It includes multiple-choice questions and problems requiring students to show their work and reasoning to find side lengths and angle measures.

Common Core Algebra II:

• Unit 10 – Assessment – Form A
  This Algebra II test focusing on rational expressions, polynomial functions, and related topics. It includes multiple-choice, short-answer, and extended-response questions to assess conceptual understanding.
  
• Unit 10 (Rational Algebra Puzzles) – Practice
  This practice worksheet guides students through puzzles that require them to perform operations on integers or variables, observe patterns, and then prove those patterns algebraically.
  
• Unit 10 – Exit Ticket
  These are exit tickets for 13 lessons in Algebra II Unit 10, covering topics like polynomial multiplication and factoring, power and rational functions, and solving rational equations and inequalities.
  
• Unit 11 – Assessment – Form A
  This trigonometry assessment contains multiple-choice questions covering radian/degree conversions, trigonometric values, and graph transformations. The free-response section requires detailed work on pendulum angles, unit circle explanations, range/period calculations, and modeling with trigonometric functions.
  
• Unit 11 (Variable Amplitude Modeling) – Practice
  This practice sheet explores variable amplitude modeling of sinusoidal functions, specifically the displacement of a weight on a spring, using linear and exponential decay models for the amplitude. It includes exercises to develop and graph these models, along with their bounding curves.
  
• Unit 11 – Exit Ticket
  These exit tickets assess student understanding of concepts like reference angles, radian/degree measures, trigonometric functions, graphs of sine and cosine, and tangent functions.

March’s Bonus Activity: St. Patrick’s Day Statistics Worksheet

For this month’s themed fun, we bring a St.Patrick’s Day-themed activity to let middle and high school students sharpen their data analysis skills by calculating how much gold a junior leprechaun would make in a year!

Students will calculate mean, mode, median, range, and analyze real-world scenarios. This activity can be done individually or in small groups, encouraging students to think critically about probability and expectations. It’s a fun, interactive way to reinforce math concepts while adding a festive touch.
