High School Teacher Tools
This month, tools for N-Gen Algebra I, N-Gen Geometry, and N-Gen Algebra II features assessments, mid-unit quizzes, and exit tickets for revising key concepts. These add-on resources for your classroom focus on topics like functions, circles and their properties, and probability.
- Unit 1 – Practice with Multiplying Binomials
This practice worksheet for Algebra I students provides exercises on multiplying binomials, covering various forms of binomial multiplication and word problems involving area calculations. The format includes a mix of direct algebraic expressions and application-based problems. - Unit 1 – Mid-Unit Quiz Form C
This mid-unit quiz assesses students’ understanding of foundational algebraic concepts. The first part of the quiz includes multiple choice questions on topics like evaluating expressions, simplifying quotients, and factoring out the GCF from a binomial. The second part consists of open-ended questions that encourage students to show their steps and reasoning. There are questions like evaluating the height of a football to show math application in real life contexts.
- Unit 2 – Practice with Solving Equations with Unspecified Constants
This practice worksheet requires solving various algebraic equations for the variable ‘x’. It contains several application-based problems where students need to rearrange formulas or create equations to solve for a specific variable in a given context, such as rearranging the formula for angle measure of an isosceles triangle, or the gravitational potential energy formula to solve for mass.
- Unit 1 – Practice Angles and Rays
The worksheet contains five problems designed to help students practice measuring and calculating angles. It includes measuring angles with a protractor, finding angle measures in diagrams, and solving algebraic problems with angles. - Unit 1 – Mid-Unit Quiz B
This geometry quiz contains both multiple-choice and open-ended questions. The problems are based on collinear points, points lying on intersecting lines and rays, and properties of circles and angles. Open-ended questions allow credit for each correct step shown, for questions like finding variable values and angle measures based on given angle relationships, and identifying vertical angles formed by intersecting lines.
- Unit 2 – Practice Transformations
This practice worksheet pairs perfectly with the Geometry unit on Transformations from N-Gen Algebra II. The problems are designed to help students understand and apply different types of geometric transformations, including plotting transformation figures.
- Unit 1 – Practice Algebraic Expressions
The worksheet contains problems that require determining the value of both single and multivariable algebraic expressions by substituting given numerical values for the variables. Students will apply algebraic expressions to common geometric formulas, such as calculating the area of a trapezoid and the surface area of a cone and a rectangular prism. - Unit 1 – Mid-Unit Quiz A
This Algebra II mid-unit quiz covers simplifying expressions, evaluating expressions with given values, identifying values for which expressions are undefined, and applying commutative, associative, and distributive properties. It also includes problems on factoring, absolute value expressions, and properties of exponents. The quiz assesses foundational algebraic skills and problem-solving.
- Unit 2 – Practice Average Rate of Change
The worksheet covers calculating the average rate of change for functions presented in tables, equations, and graphs. It also includes problems on comparing rates of change over different intervals and identifying the fastest rate of change.
